San Diego

Hello!

Good to see Mom figured out how to post a comment!!! Momentous accomplishment. As I mentioned earlier, this blog came out of my gratitude that mom wrote me every week on my mission. And i want to return that favor. I've fallen short of writing every week, and I'll do better. What a strength those letters were to me and I sure am a blessed man (term used loosely so no backtalk sister in laws!).

Well I got to bring Raeghn along for the weekend to San Diego on frequent flier miles. I have a conference down here starting tomorrow and Raeghn just left to fly home. San Diego is my favorite place in the US outside of Utah. Great weather, great zoo, great park with cool buildings and street performers (Balboa) (I'll post pictures in my photo blog later, great rocky beach, great food (little Itally and Old Town), greatest peanut butter ice cream in the world (Cafe Coyote in Old Town), great weather, great church ward (met Brother Garcia whom i need to get with again sometime (personal note)).

The above two pictures are of a marine proposing to his girlfriend. He asked me secretly if I could take pictures while he surprised her. It was fun and touching. I'm sure glad I asked Raeghn all those years ago! How blessed I am.

Wayne, Shad, and Kveena got autographs from Jon Schmidt and his Cello Player Steve Sharp Nelson (Shad's hero). They did a fireside at the tabernacle and the music was incredible. They learned some great things about the importance of good music and avoiding peer pressure.

Wayne and Shad climbed the Wellsvilles with their scout troop. Lots of snow at the top! A great accomplishment.
Raeghn got us some tickets to the last session of conference. It was amazing. Elder Holland's talk on the Book of Mormon had everyone including Dad in tears. It was life changing. The kids will remember that the rest of their lives.
Dave and Family came into town on the way back from Conference. We had Mitch and Family over too and had a cake for Kyle.








Shad and Dad went up shooting in the canyon and helped some other people learn how to use their cameras.
